Pilgrims of Hope6 March 2025 (by stjohnb) |
Dear parents/carers,
This year marks the Jubilee year, Pilgrims of Hope. It is a special event which invites everyone across the globe to join together with a focus on peace, healing and solidarity. As it is only celebrated every 25 years, we are hoping to engage the children in a number of activities throughout the year to mark this special time.
So far, the children have been learning a special Pilgrims of hope prayer and song. You may have also noticed Mr. MacAreavy's symbols of the Jubilee on display at the front of the school.
On Thursday 13th March, all classes will take part in a special day of activities where they will learn more about the Jubilee year of hope and its message from the Bible. On Friday 14th March at 9.30am, the Infant children will be taking part in a special Jubilee mass in school led by Father Grant. We would like to invite any families to come and participate with us.
Following on from this, on Monday 17th March, all classes will take part in a whole school pilgrimage around the school grounds, ending in our lovely new prayer garden. On this day, we are hoping to raise money for CAFOD from our pilgrimage. We would therefore appreciate any cash donations on this day.
Please send in any donations in an envelope marked with your child's name. As always, thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mr MacAreavy and Miss Wood
