BAMBINELLI SUNDAY
On the Sunday before Christmas, 22nd December 2019, we would like to invite you to bring the image of the infant Christ from your cribs and during that mass we will bless them. This is an old custom which survives still in many parts of Europe. Once the figure has been blest the tradition holds that the Christ child is hidden until the dawn of Christmas day when he is placed in the manger for all to see.
Corpus Christi
Thank you to all our families who helped celebrate the festival of Corpus Christi on Sunday 23 June 2019. Corpus Christi celebrates the Eucharist. An open air Mass was held after a procession, which carried the consecrated host from St Catherine's Chapel (Lydiate Abbey) to Our Lady's Church. Our children from Year 4 helped celebrate the Mass which was followed by a wonderful garden party organised by Father Grant.
CELEBRATION OF UNITY
On Sunday 27th May 2018 a Mass of Thanksgiving was held to recognise 40 years of St John Bosco School, 50 years of St Gregory's School, 60 years of St Gregory's Church and to also celebrate the establishment of the Parish of St Catherine of Alexandria. Most Reverend Malcolm McMahon, Archbishop of Liverpool presided the Mass which was followed by a wonderful garden party organised by Father Grant.
