Junior Carol Concert and After School Clubs - Cancelled12 December 2022 (by stjohnb) |
Dear Parents and Carers
I am sorry to have to inform you that tonight's Junior Carol Concert will not take place. The children and teachers have put a great deal of effort into preparing this and we now have over 30 junior children who are not in school due to sickness and this includes our solo singers and this number is likely to increase. The weather forecast for the next three days at least suggests freezing conditions and I do hope that you understand the reasons for this decision. I would hate for anyone to fall or bump their vehicle when it is avoidable. We have asked Fr Grant to see if Church is available on Thursday at around 10.00am and I will let you know as soon as he has contacted me. If we are unable to go ahead due to continued bad weather and an overloaded diary, we intend to have the first Carol Concert of 2023 when we return after the Christmas Break. At least it will give all our junior children an opportunity to display their wonderful singing and I know that Miss Rogers and Mrs Thomas in particular have put a great deal of effort into preparing the children.
The school field is frozen solid and even the poly tunnel is uncomfortable to work in therefore I am informing you that there will be no after school clubs whatsoever until we return in January. Children must be picked up at 3.15pm. Stjbkidzone is still open.
At the moment our other festive plans will continue unless the situation changes for the worse.
Although the World Cup has sadly ended for England our school World Cup Raffle will continue until our final day next Wednesday 21st December when school will close at 2.00pm prompt.
Yours sincerely
Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
