Friday Update 21.01.2221 January 2022 (by stjohnb) |
Dear Parents and Carers
You will no doubt be delighted that this weekly update will be very short and to the point. We have had a fantastic week at school with superb behavior in all classes and the quality of lessons that I have witnessed throughout the school has been most impressive. Children present themselves as happy and hardworking and understand the importance of doing their best as well as being a kind and helpful person. Our ‘Ant and Dec Raffle’ continues to prove highly motivational and all our children are desperate to be included.
After school clubs have again been particularly well received and I am pleased that many of you have commented upon the wide range of activities that our children can enjoy during this colder half term. We always aim to provide a greater variety which develops so many other skills within our children whilst allowing our school field to recover during the wetter winter months.
Thank you for the general improvement in parking.
As we continue to grow and develop our school library I am pleased that this week saw us take delivery of our computer system which will allow all our children’s books to be scanned and loaned out to children in much the same way as a real library. It will enable us to track a wide range of associated information and I hope that the children find this an exciting addition to our school provision. To quote Rudyard Kipling “In reading lies knowledge, in knowledge lies wisdom”.
Fr Grant has been true to his word and we have sent the First Holy Communion arrangements letters to our families and hope that they have plenty of time to arrange their children’s celebrations which this year will return to normal.
Yesterday, we had an extremely positive zoom meeting with our Year 6 families as they get ready to enjoy their residential week at Kingswood, can I simply remind you that should you have any questions or concerns that I am always available early in the mornings and I will be happy to help if I can.
Can I wish you a happy and peaceful weekend.
Yours sincerely
Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
