End of Year Thank You

21 December 2021 (by stjohnb)

Dear Parents and Carers

Well, we finally made it.  This has been a most challenging term for all of us.  I shall keep this final message brief but would like to thank you all for the support you have given to your children and school and that includes having a sensible approach to any illnesses that your children have had during this Autumn Term.  We do not know what the New Year will bring but I ask that you continue to be vigilant and simply do what is best for your children and your family.

I am delighted with what we have been able to offer your children both in terms of a high-quality education and more recently their Advent preparation and I would like to thank the teachers and support staff for ensuring that this happened.

Our school choir performed superbly in front of their parents and a small gathering of St James’ Parishioners.  The standard of singing was fantastic and this was replicated yesterday evening at       Fr Grant’s Christmas Carol Concert.  The choir sang two of Fr Grant’s favourite Carols of ours and I must say I thought their performance was uplifting and certainly got the congregation in the Christmas spirit.

Our final Advent Wreath Celebration ended a busy morning where members of our Year 6 class took our foodbank donations with me, to Sefton’s Central Food Depot where it will be distributed to the most needy in our community.

Perhaps this is an appropriate place to stop, as once again our children and their families freely give to those less fortunate and within this simple act lies the true message of Christmas.

I wish you all a Peaceful, Happy and Holy Christmas and look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Thursday 6th January 2022.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
