Year 3 Home Learning Update1 June 2020 (by stjohnb) |
Good morning year 3. I hope you are all safe and well and have been managing to enjoy some of our lovely summer weather! I only have small updates to give you this week in regards to your home learning.
Maths
Mrs Stockwell is updating our class page on the school website with Whiterose worksheets and videos so you can continue with your maths. Lots of you have been logging into MyMaths too and completing lots of lessons which has also been great to see because I can give you feedback on there.
Whilst you are learning from home it would be great for you to start learning to tell the time. This will not happen overnight and is something you have to keep going back to so don’t get frustrated if you can’t do it all today! You can ask your parents to test you and you could even manage your own timetable throughout the day! I will upload links and images to help you with this on our class Twitter page @StJBoscoYear3.
English
Continue with your reading and try new books for pleasure at home. If you have younger brothers or sisters read to them too! They will love it. You’ve all got logins for BugClub so don’t forget to logon and have a go at the reading books on there too.
I’ve seen some lovely creative writing shared on Twitter from some members of Year 3. please share what you have done with me because I’ve enjoyed reading them all!
Topic
Our topic for this half term would have been The USA. You could do some research and create a project portfolio. I know some other members have kept notes throughout the topics and done quizzes for their families. Whichever way you choose to learn should be what’s best for you. This week’s lesson is on exploring the geography of the USA and exploring some cities. I would use Google Earth/ Google Maps to do this. You could create your own drawing of the USA naming all of the states and the major cities within them. You could create an electronic version of this using google slides/ PowerPoint and show your findings this way. I will update you every week with the next topic lesson.
I remain optimistic that I will be able to see some of you in a couple of weeks time. Until then, keep up with everything that you’re doing because it’s great! I’m so proud of every single one of you.
Miss Briscoe
